Charles Co. teacher sentenced to 30 years in prison.
There was an order to send an instructional assistant at Westlake High School in Waldorf, Maryland, to serve approximately 30 years in prison. The issue was regarding the sexual abuse of two students in the school. The state’s attorney, Charles County, declared this last Friday. Daylin Roy Davis of Waldorf, at present 28 years old, was sentenced to prison for 50 years. However, 30 years of that got suspended. He is supposed to give years of probation for serving those 30 years. Again, it was stated that if he violated the terms during that tenure, he would have no choice but to go back to prison for the remaining 20 years that were suspended. He shall also be registered as a sex offender for his entire life in that case.
Davis pleaded guilty to sexual abuse.
Davis pleaded guilty in November 2022 for two sexual abuse and yet another sex offense charge from two students at Westlake. The Charles County Sheriff’s office got a notification of inappropriate texts for a 15-year-old student’s phone in Marc 2022. The office stated that Davis had made multiple demands of sexual contact with the teenage girl,l who further said that Davis had such sexual relations with different students at the school.

The sheriff’s office stated that Davis had met with that 15-year-old girl in an empty classroom in Westlake. There, Davis had offered her marijuana. Going through the statements as informed by the investigators, the girl feared that Davis might assault her, and thus, she asked him for a hickey. The mother of the 14-year-old student found text exchanges between Davis and her daughter on the latter’s phone inappropriate. The student stated to the deputies that they had participated in various sexual activities multiple times and that Davis had assaulted her twice on two separate events on an empty stomach in February 2022.
