Frederick County Celebrates 275th Anniversary with Jubilee

Frederick County, Maryland, celebrated its 275th-anniversary jubilee on Saturday with a day-long celebration that featured speeches, live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. The event was held at the Frederick County Fairgrounds and attended by thousands of people across the region.

The jubilee started with a parade through downtown Frederick, featuring floats, marching bands, and local dignitaries. The train was followed by a ceremony at the fairgrounds, where Maryland State Delegate Christopher Eric Bouchat and other elected officials gave speeches to commemorate the occasion.

Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed various activities, including carnival rides, a petting zoo, and a classic car show. There were also several live music acts, with performers ranging from local bands to nationally recognized artists.

Food vendors were on hand to provide a wide range of culinary delights, including traditional Maryland crab cakes, barbecue, and funnel cakes. There were also plenty of local craft vendors selling handmade goods and souvenirs.

Planning Committee Praises Success of Jubilee

The Frederick County 275 Planning Committee, which organized the jubilee, praised the event’s success and thanked all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make it possible. “We are thrilled with how the jubilee turned out,” said committee chairperson Sarah O’Connell. “It was a true celebration of everything that makes Frederick County such a special place to live and work.”

O’Connell also noted that the jubilee was beginning a year-long celebration of Frederick County’s 275th anniversary. “We have a whole series of events planned throughout the year, including historical tours, community festivals, and educational programs,” she said. “We want to make sure that everyone in the county has a chance to be a part of this historic milestone.”
