Teen Injured After Attempting to Carjack Off-Duty BPD Officer

A 17-year-old teen was injured and arrested after attempting to carjack an off-duty Boston Police Department (BPD) officer on Friday night. According to the BPD, the officer was sitting in his personal vehicle when the teen approached him with a gun and demanded the keys to the car.

The officer, who was not in uniform at the time, identified himself as a police officer and ordered the teen to drop the weapon. When the teen refused to comply, the officer fired his weapon, striking the teen in the arm.

The teen was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later arrested and charged with attempted carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon.

BPD Officer Cleared in Shooting of Teen Carjacker

The BPD has cleared the off-duty officer involved in the shooting of a 17-year-old teen who attempted to carjack him on Friday night. According to the BPD, the officer acted in accordance with department policy and was justified in using deadly force to protect himself from the armed suspect.

The teen, who was injured in the incident, was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon. The BPD has not released the name of the officer involved in the shooting.
