The show is a continuation of the first season. It starts with the introduction to the new characters and setting, as well as Shiro’s new mission. Shadow and Bone first premiered in 2014, with an 11-episode first season based on Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling book of the same name. It did well enough (although apparently not as well as HBO hoped) that HBO announced a second season in 2016 but it was delayed due to other commitments from the showrunner involved. The series is based on Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy, which has since expanded into six books following a post-season 1 story arc in Six of Crows (2016).
Plot summary
The story is a prequel of sorts to a series that can be found in the written form. If you haven’t read this book yet or don’t have any intention of doing so, we’re sure that the Shadow and Bone season 2 movie will quench your thirst for adventure and keep you on the edge of your seat.
As for the plot summary, it’s going to answer a few important questions about what we’re going to see this year. If we consider that the show was renewed last year – announced by Freeform and premiered in 2016 – it goes without saying that we’re not going to miss on a sequel. In season one of this dramatic tv show, after being publicly humiliated by her new classmates, Sasha starts to turn inward and suffers from self-doubt until she learns how to use her power to protect herself. In the meantime, there’s plenty of drama going on with the other students at school. Reviews
As someone who has been a fan of the series from the start, this season was not everything that we hoped for. After getting so much hype and everyone saying that Shadow & Bone season 2 would be better than season 1, it was not as much as we thought it would. It had mixed feelings with many people comparing it to Game Of Thrones which is hard to do. Still, there were some details that made us really enjoy it and other things that felt like they were trying to make their original story more like Game of Thrones which in most of our opinion was unnecessary.
