Revelers take to Baker Park to celebrate Independence Day.

On July 4th, 2023, revelers celebrated Independence Day at Baker Park in Frederick, Maryland. The day-long festivities, presented by Celebrate Frederick and Frederick’s 4th committee, offered a variety of activities for all ages.

The celebration began with a parade through downtown Frederick, featuring floats, marching bands, and community groups. Following the parade, attendees made their way to Baker Park, where they were greeted with food vendors, live music, and various games and activities.

Children enjoyed rides and games such as a bounce house, face painting, and a dunk tank. Families also enjoyed a petting zoo and pony rides. For those looking for a more active experience, there were fitness classes, yoga sessions, and a 5K race.

As the sun began to set, the crowd gathered on the lawn to enjoy a concert by a local band, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. The fireworks lit up the sky with vibrant colors and patterns, delighting the crowd and providing the perfect end to a day of celebration.

Throughout the day, attendees were reminded to follow COVID-19 safety protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Hand sanitizer stations were available throughout the park, and vendors had to follow strict health and safety guidelines.
