Sinkhole forces LocalLink bus route diversion

A sinkhole that formed in the road has forced the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to divert the LocalLink bus route on Thursday evening. According to a press release from the MTA, the sinkhole was caused by a water main break located on the intersection of Main Street and Elm Avenue in the town of Towson.

The diversion will affect LocalLink Route 52, which runs from Towson University at York Road to the Lutherville Light Rail Station. The MTA has advised passengers to expect delays and allow extra travel time. The diversion will be in place until further notice, and the MTA has said that it will provide updates as more information becomes available.

The MTA has also advised passengers to use the Transit app or the MTA website to track the location of their bus in real time. The app and website will provide information on the diversion and any changes to the route.
