Maryland State Police Charge Suspect In Assault On Troopers In St. Mary’s County

Maryland State Police have charged a suspect with an assault on two troopers in St. Mary’s County. According to News.mayland.gov, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when two troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack were dispatched to a residence on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, the troopers encountered a male suspect who became combative and assaulted both troopers. The suspect fled the scene, and multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a search. After an extensive search, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as a 32-year-old man from St. Mary’s County. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He is currently being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center on a no-bond status.
