Fire Causes Partial Collapse of Gaithersburg Home

A fire broke out in a Gaithersburg home on August 25, 2023, causing a partial collapse of the building. According to DC News Now, firefighters found “heavy fire” on the second floor, attic, and roof of the home. There were no reported injuries.

Previous Explosions in Gaithersburg

This incident is not the first time that Gaithersburg has experienced an explosion. In November 2022, a condo building in Gaithersburg suffered an explosion and fire, leaving 12 people injured, two of them critically. The blast was reported at the Potomac Oaks Condominium complex on Quince Orchard Road. According to Montgomery County Fire officials, the two-alarm blaze caused two of the buildings to collapse partially.
