West Nile Virus Detected in Mosquitoes in Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County officials have confirmed that mosquitoes in the area have tested positive for the West Nile virus. According to morningsidemaryland.com, the infected mosquitoes were found in multiple locations throughout the county, including Annapolis, Edgewater, and Pasadena.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health urges residents to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites, such as wearing long sleeves and pants, using insect repellent, and avoiding outdoor activities during peak mosquito hours. West Nile virus symptoms can include fever, headache, body aches, and fatigue. In rare cases, it can lead to serious neurological illness.
