Homicide investigation underway after man found dead in West Baltimore alleyway

Discovery of the body

On the morning of December 2nd, 2023, Baltimore City Police received a 911 call around 7:30 AM reporting an unresponsive man lying in an alleyway in the 2100 block of Baker Street in West Baltimore. Officers and EMS personnel responded to the scene to find a male victim in his 30s face down and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigation

Homicide detectives with the Baltimore Police Department immediately opened an investigation into the suspicious death. An initial examination of the body by a medical examiner determined the cause of death was multiple stab wounds. No weapons were found at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Police have canvassed the area looking for surveillance footage or witnesses but have found little information so far about what happened.
