Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in the Wyoming Valley

Several streets in the Wyoming Valley area have been flooded due to heavy rain that moved through the area. Emergency crews have been responding to reports of flooded roads in Kingston, Wilkes-Barre, and Edwardsville boroughs.

As of 2:00 p.m., a majority of the roads have been drained and cleared up in Kingston and Wilkes-Barre, according to reports by WBRE/WYOU and PAhomepage.com. However, residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution and avoid flooded areas if possible.

This weekend’s sudden rain showers flooded many streets in the area, overwhelming the drains. The extent of the damage caused by the flooding is still being assessed.

This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
