60-Year-Old Silver Spring Man Reported Missing

The Montgomery County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 60-year-old Silver Spring man who has been missing since Thursday, July 6th. Porfirio Adolfo Diaz-Sanchez was last seen around 3 p.m. on Thursday in the 800 block of University Boulevard East.

Diaz-Sanchez is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’4″ tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. He may be driving a 2008 silver Toyota Corolla with Maryland license plates.

Anyone with information about Diaz-Sanchez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department at (301) 279-8000.

Recent Increase in Missing Person Cases in Silver Spring

The case of Diaz-Sanchez is just one of several recent missing persons cases in the Silver Spring area. In June of 2023, a 66-year-old man named Ralph Handel Caby was reported missing and was later found deceased. And in September of 2022, a 78-year-old man named Wasantha Tennakoom was reported missing and was later found dead.

The Montgomery County Police Department has been working to address the recent increase in missing persons cases in the Silver Spring area. The department has increased patrols and worked with local businesses and community organizations to improve safety and awareness.

As the search for Diaz-Sanchez continues, residents are urged to be vigilant and to report any information that may help locate him.
