The Witcher Will Return This Year In December
The Witcher is one of the most critically-acclaimed series ever made, and now it’s getting a video game too. The show is based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels about Geralt of Rivia, who is a professional monster hunter for hire that specializes in slaying supernatural beings. Netflix offered the debut of season 1 on December 20th, 2019, with 8 episodes. Season 2 has also been scheduled for December 17th, 2021, with 8 episodes.
What is the Series All About?
The Witcher is a fantasy drama series streaming on Netflix, based on the book by Andrzej Sapkowski. It is about Geralt of Rivia and his journey as a monster hunter for hire. He wonders about the world of humans while also being referred to as a “freak” by the local townsfolk. The television series is set in medieval times and features magic along with monsters that Geralt has to fight off.

Geralt of Rivia is referred to as Witcher. Her love interest is a Mage named Yennefer of Vengerberg. The story revolves around the lives of Crown Princess Ciri, Yennefer, and Geralt, along with different timelines until they merge and become one.
What is the Cast of the Witcher?
The main leads of the series are Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Eamon Farren as Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold. Other notable stars include Jodhi May (Queen Calanthe), Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (Eist Tuirseach), Adam Levy (Mousesack).
The next season is supposed to have mostly the same crew, and we might see more actors from the first season. The new members will include Kim Bodnia as Vesemir, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Adjoa Andoh as Nenneke, Liz Carr as Fenn, Simon Callow as Codringher and Graham McTavish as Dijkstra.
What Can We Expect the Further Story To Be?
Geralt has finally found Ciri and wants to bring her back home. The odds are not in his favor, and we don’t know what will happen next season, but hopefully, they can take down the Wild Hunt once and for all!
We might see Ciri being trained as a Witcher under Geralt’s Wings, but she might have different plans of her own. Geralt will develop a relationship with Yennefer, and the show might take a turn towards its love triangle after all.
We are also waiting for Emperor Emhyr var Emreis to come into play and take the world over with his huge army of Nilfgaardians. We can’t wait!
Titles of the Next Season Revealed
The Witcher show creators recently held a witcherCon event for the fans of the video game series. The event was attended by the show’s cast and crew, including Henry Cavill (Geralt). The event released a full two-minute teaser along with the titles for the 2nd season of the Witcher.

We cannot anticipate the whole series from the revealed titles, but they were successful in igniting the eagerness of the lovers of the show. We might have to wait for the release of the 2nd season but it will be worth it.

The show might be delayed for 2 years, but it’s still in progress, so fans will have to wait. The teaser for the next season was released by Netflix, which seems to be pleasing people in a lot of ways.
The show will have a lot more monsters than what we are used to seeing in The Witcher video game series and the first season, so it’s going to be interesting for sure!
We can expect lots of violence since it follows the book rather than anything else. It is definitely going to be a treat for those who are fans of the books.
After all, we have waited for so long for the next season to be released, so we might as well wait a little more.
