behind-the-scenes of ‘The Crown’ production

The release date of The Crown Season 5:

It has been reported that filming is set to kick off in July 2021 at Elstree Studios, barring any disasters. The series will air in 2022.

That production break was reportedly always on the cards and had nothing to do with the pandemic.

The cast of The Crown season 5:

  • Jonny Lee Miller
  • Jonathan Pryce
  • Imelda Staunton
  • Lesley Manville
  • Elizabeth Debicki
  • Dominic West
  • Olivia Williams

The storyline of The Crown Season 5:

the storyline is not sure yet, but it may be about Margaret Thatcher and the Diana years of 1981 to 1983 in London or maybe an earlier point in history like Philip’s coronation day 1953 when he became king.

The show might explore the relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles before their marriage at what was called a “frosty” time for them.

They married as a consolation prize after Princess Louisa Kennedy rejected him because of his affair with Sydney Berners, who would soon become the Duchess of the Duke.

The majority of the season is set to focus on the Queen’s friendship with Camilla Parker Bowles.

The plot of The Crown Season 5:

Set at the height of Princess Diana’s popularity in 1981 when she married the Prince of Wales, the story will explore her first few years as a princess and what it was like living in such proximity to Charles.

After that, not much is known about the plot. There are rumors that Margaret Thatcher might make an appearance, so that we can expect some drama.

After this point, nothing else has been announced.

Who will be playing the role of The Queen?

Imelda Staunton will portray the Queen.

Just as the cast was updated after the first two seasons, the show is doing the same by the time it arrives in Season 5. Netflix confirmed that, after Olivia Colman’s tenure as Queen Elizabeth II, Harry Potter alum Imelda Staunton will take over.

Is the show worth watching?

The Crown is the best show on Netflix. Period.

Netflix’s royal drama is the best streaming service for a number of reasons  – the acting from its all-star cast to the beautiful cinematography that captures breathtaking locations in London and beyond.

The story picks up after Queen Elizabeth II has ascended the throne while grappling with marriage challenges as well as international crises at home and abroad.
