An apartment fire in Dundalk has claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman. The one-alarm fire happened on New Year’s Day. Lillian Lyman Lindeman of the 2800 block of Dunlawn Court was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to revive her were unsuccessful. Engine 7 and other crews were dispatched to the scene around 9:40 PM after another resident reported smoke in his unit. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the victim’s apartment had filled with smoke.
The victim was found unresponsive in the living room. EMS crews began working immediately to save the woman’s life. The resident who reported the fire was ultimately transported to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Fire investigators concluded that the fire started when smoking materials ignited combustible items. Fire and smoke damage were mainly limited to the apartment of origin.
