Vehicle Hits Baltimore County Firefighter During ‘Fill The Boot’ Collections


The Baltimore County Fire Department was conducting a fundraiser around 11:18 a.m. Sunday morning at Rossville Boulevard and U.S. 40, when a vehicle struck a fire lieutenant.

The county Fire Department, along with over 100,000 firefighters nationwide has been participating in the “Fill the Boot” fundraising campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The lieutenant was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Officials said his injuries were not expected to be life threatening.

Baltimore County Police were called to the scene to investigate the incident. Further details were not immediately available.
