School Resource Officer Finds Loaded Gun On Annapolis High School Student


Anne Arundel County Police said a 16-year-old student at Annapolis High School had a loaded handgun in his possession.

Approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, the school administrator notified the School Resource Officer Annapolis High School of a possible weapons offense. The school administer told the officer that a tenth grade student getting on a school bus after school was thought to have a weapon in his possession.

The officer found the student and escorted off of the school bus. A loaded .22 caliber handgun was discovered, where the student was sitting in the rear seat of the school bus. The student was arrested and taken to Southern District.

The juvenile was charged with possession of a handgun.
