Prince George’s County Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision In Seat Pleasant


Prince George’s County Police say a 63-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Suitland Friday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian at East Capitol Street and Yost Place approximately 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the responding officers initiated an investigation that revealed the victim was struck as he attempted to cross East Capitol Street, but was not in a crosswalk.

Accident Scene

The victim was identified Wayne Tonio Davis, 63, of Kendrick Road in Suitland was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver who hit the victim remained at the scene throughout the investigation.

The vehicle that struck the victim was also hit by another vehicle in the rear end. That driver left the scene before police arrived.
