Prince George’s County Police Identify Victim In District Heights Fatal Collision


At approximately 2:25 p.m. Thursday, Prince George’s County Police responded to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue at Brooks Drive to investigate a multi-vehicle collision. At the scene, officers located three vehicles that had been damaged during the collision.

Preliminary investigation revealed the a vehicle traveling southbound on Pennsylvania Avenue left the roadway, crossed the shoulder and struck to vehicles sitting at a red light on Brooks Drive.

The driver of the striking vehicle and passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver on one of the struck vehicles was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the second struck vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to the report.

The victim has been identified as Rudolph Wayne, 48, of Gramercy Place in Columbia.
