Parker Hannifin To Close Tell City Plant, Laying Off 61 Employees

Parker Hannifin Corporation filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on November 2. The notice indicates the company will close its Tell City facility and lay off 61 employees.

Business ClosingParker Hannifin is a gasket, packing and sealing device manufacturer. The company operates in two segments, Aerospace and Diversified Industrial Systems. The Diversified Industrial segments provides dynamic and static sealing devices and diagnostics solutions to monitor and remove contaminants from oil, water and air.

Parker Hannifin will close its Industrial Process Filtration Division at 2002 Main Street in Tell City, Indiana on or about September 30, 2018. Employee separations are expected to begin on November 10 and be completed on or about September 30.

The employees affected by the closure are represented by the Chicago and Midwest Joint Board of Workers United, SEIU labor union, according to the filing.
