On Monday, July the 31st, beachgoers excitedly hurried over to the local beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Soon, their Monday morning would be turned upside and their day at the beach would be delayed. The first arrivals discovered the body of a Texas vacationer. The woman’s body was found in a hole that had been carved into the beach’s sand.
The victim has now been identified as Ashley O’Connor of Plano, Texas. The 30-year-old had visited the resort town with her parents. Ocean City Police were made aware of the discovery at roughly 6:30 AM Eastern Time on Monday. Beachgoers found the body near Second Street and immediately notified town employees, who subsequently altered the police.
Ocean City Communications Manager Jessica Waters confirmed that the death seemed to be accidental. Nevertheless, police had yet to rule out foul play. O’Connor’s body was removed from the scene at 4:15 PM. It has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who will attempt to determine the cause and manner of death.
Authorities confirm that the investigation is still ongoing. They have agreed to provide addition details as soon as it comes available.
