Ocean City Man Seriously Injured After Falling Into Trash Compactor


On Saturday, a man in Ocean City was seriously injured after he fell into a trash compactor. The man is now at a shock trauma hospital according to authorities. The incident took place at the Carousel Hotel, which is located at Coastal Highway and 118th Street. Ocean City Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at approximately 5:45 PM on July the 29th.

When they arrived at the scene, authorities learned that a 20-year-old man was injured by a trash compactor utilized by the hotel. Officers worked to extract the victim, who was then escorted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore via the Maryland State Police Trooper 4 helicopter.

Authorities confirm that the man is being treated for serious injuries, but they’re not expected to be life threatening. The injuries primarily impact the man’s lower extremities.
