Military Officials Identify Maryland Soldier Injured In Accident At South Carolina Base

On Friday, military officials announced a “tragic accident” that claimed the lives of two soldiers and injured six others at a base in South Carolina. While in formation, the soldiers were struck by a military vehicle, according to the release.

United States ARmyFort Jackson released a statement Saturday, identifying the soldiers killed in the incident as Pvt. Timothy Ashcraft of Cincinnati, Ohio and Pvt. Ethan Shrader of Prospect, Tennessee.

One of the soldiers injured in the incident was identified as Pvt. Cardre Jackson Jr. from Laurel, Maryland.

Others injured in the incident were identified as Pvt. Hannah New of Cartersville, Georgia, Pvt. James Foster of Macon, Georgia, Pvt. Benjamin Key of Livingston, Tennessee, Pvt. Emmett Foreman of Daleville, Alabama and Pvt. Alan Kryszak of Clarksville, Tennessee.
