Maryland State Police: Man Survives After Being Run Over, Assaulted On I-95


On Thursday afternoon, a man driving north on I-95 got into a “nonverbal altercation” with another driver. The man pulled over on the shoulder, at which time the suspect rammed his vehicle and then physically assaulted him, Maryland State Police said.

The incident occurred near mile marker 74 in Belcamp around 2:30 p.m. The victim told police he exited his vehicle to assess the damage, when the suspect got out of his vehicle and assaulted him.

Baltimore Mayor's Office On Criminal JusticeAfter returning to his vehicle, the suspect ran over the victim and then drove away, police said.

The victim was airlifted to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police did not have the victim’s condition, but said he was still hospitalized.

The police said the suspect, a black man weighing around 200 pounds, was driving a champagne colored Nissan Maxima, which should have front-end damage.
