Maryland State Police Identify Driver Involved In Fallston Fatal Collision

Approximately 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, Maryland State Police troopers were dispatched to a collision on Mountain Road near Stratford Drive in Fallston. At the scene, the responding troopers discovered that a Ford F-250 truck was traveling north on Mountain Road near the Reckford Road Park. The driver for unknown reasons traveled onto the shoulder and off the highway. The truck continued north along Mountain Road in a grassy area, where it finally struck an Infiniti SUV.

The driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was partially ejected from the truck and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the news release.

The driver was later identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Vande-Ryt of Columbia. The driver, 39-year-old Martina Rambal of Baltimore, of the Infiniti was airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.

Mountain Road reopened about 3 hours later.
