Major Appliance Showroom Opens Inside The JCPenney In Abingdon On Friday


So far this year, a total of 100 JCPenney stores nationwide, including the store in Abingdon, have enlarged their home department to include major appliances.

On Friday, the store at the Boulevard at Box Hill opened its 1,000-square-feet showroom that consists of ranges, refrigerators, dryers, washers, and dishwashers. Such brands as GE, LG and Samsung are among the many offerings available to consumers, along with free delivery, price match guarantees and no interest financing.Last year, the chain introduced laundry and kitchen appliances to a total of 500 stores.

To elevate sales at more strategic locations and slash costs, JCPenney will close 138 locations nationwide. The Easton location in Maryland is scheduled to close by June.
