Howard County Police Investigating A Fatal Collision In Columbia


At approximately 5:22 a.m. Tuesday morning, Howard County Police responded to the intersection at Oakland Mills Road to investigate a multi-vehicle collision. At the scene, officers located a 2014 Jeep Wrangler and 2005 Isuzu truck with exterior damage.

ArrestPreliminary investigation revealed the Jeep was traveling westbound on Guilford Ford, when it entered the intersection at Oakland Mills Road and struck the Isuzu, which was traveling southbound on Oakland Mills Road.

Police believe the Jeep failed to stop at the four-way stop sign, before proceeding into the intersection.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to the Howard County General Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver has been identified as 32-year-old Meghan Lynne Schwartz of Laurel.

The driver of the Isuzu is listed in stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The driver of the Isuzu has been identified as 36-year-old Sean Donte Brown of Savage.

The investigation is ongoing.
