Delaware Man Arrested By Maryland State Police After Shooting At Officers


State police officers with the Criminal Enforcement Division arrested a Delaware man who is suspected of firing at police after an attempted traffic stop in Dorchester County. 20-year-old Isaiah Peppers of Magnolia, Delaware has been identified as the suspect. The accused was arrested and charged with numerous crimes, including illegal possession of a firearm, eluding uniformed police by failing to stop, attempted first and second degree murder, and first and second degree assault.

Peppers was arrested a short time after 1 PM on January 15, 2019 in Hampton Virginia. The Maryland State Apprehension Team was responsible for arresting the accused. After midnight on January 11, 2019, troopers attempted a traffic stop in the eastbound lane of Route 392 in Dorchester County. The driver, who was later identified as Peppers, refused to stop. During the pursuit, it is alleged that Peppers fired several shot out of the driver’s side window. The trooper’s marked Ford Explorer was struck multiple times.
