Governor Larry Hogan appointed Dana M. Middleton, former city prosecutor, new Baltimore Circuit Judge. Additionally, Harris P. Murphy was appointed to fill the vacancy on the circuit court in Kent County.
Middleton is currently an assistant attorney general in the agency’s Criminal Division Organized Crime Unit. She previously served as a prosecutor in the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office and clerk for Prince George’s County Circuit Judge Sheila R. Tillerson Adams.Middleton earned her law degree from George Washington University Law School.
“After a careful and thorough vetting process, I am confident that Dana Middleton and Harris Murphy are the most qualified candidates to fill these vacancies,” Hogan said in a statement. “Their years of public service, as well as their excellence in upholding the law, show that they are both uniquely prepared to serve their respective communities.”
Middleton will fill the vacancy left by Judge Stephen J. Sfekas’ retirement in February.
