Cyclist Dies After Being Hit By Car Near BWI


Approximately 12:30 am. Tuesday, a car collided into a bicyclist near BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Maryland Transportation Authority Police spokesman Lieutenant Kevin Ayd said the car and bicyclist collided near Mathison Way near the BWI Trail, which loops almost completely around the airport in Linthicum.

EMS workers pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene. As of Tuesday afternoon, the identity of the cyclist had not been confirmed, police said.

Police confirmed the fatality, but did not immediately provide additional details on the crash.
