Community Forum – Prince George’s County Department Of Housing And Community Development FY2018 AAP

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) strives to enhance the lives of residents. This is made possible through financial resources and professional assistance, which is distributed accordingly to low and moderate-income residents. DHCD provides support to those who are interested in homeownership. There are various programs available, depending on the individual’s need:

  • Lead Reduction Program
  • Single Family Housing Rehabilitation Program
  • Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program
  • Accessible Homes For Seniors AHS Pilot Program

Prince George's County DHCD

The focus is to upgrade deteriorated dwellings, remove architectural barriers for handicapped persons, develop led-safe housing, provide funding for down payment and closing costs, and improve accessibility for senior citizens.

Homeownership is something that everyone dreams of, but with the assistance of DHCD, it is possible. The state of Maryland has deemed Prince George’s County an area for priority funding. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Greater Washington Urban League Homebuyer Workshops and credit counseling services, provided by the National Consumer Law Center.

The Prince George’s County Department of Housing and Community Development is encouraging the residents to join them in a discussion on the 2017 Annual Action Plan. A community forum will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard, focusing on the community and housing development needs.

For citizens, who are unable to attend the forum, but want to address specific issues, please submit your written comments to the DHCD or contact CPD Administrator, Shirley E. Grant (see below for more information).
