Caito Foods LLC To Close Fresh Cut Manufacturing Operation And Layoff 333 In Indianapolis, Indiana

On February 28, 2020, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development received a WARN from Caito Foods. The letter explains that the company will be carrying out employment separations in April of this year. Due to a recent cancellation of a customer contract that makes up the majority of the company’s Fresh Cut business, Caito Foods will be closing its Fresh Cut manufacturing operation.

The separations are expected to begin on or around April 27, 2020. The layoffs and closure will be permanent. The company anticipates that a group of impacted employees will be laid off during a 14-day period starting on April 27, 2020. Since the workers are not represented by a union, they will not have access to bumping rights.

The timetable is based on information currently available to the company so it may change. The impacted facility is located at 3120 North Post Road in Indianapolis. 66 of the employees are production clerks while 34 are lead production clerks. The full WARN can be found here.
