Baltimore County Police Identify Victim In Catonsville Fatal Shooting

Baltimore County, Maryland – Just before 2:00 a.m. Baltimore County Police responded to the 6500-block of Baltimore National Pike, 21228 for a fatal shooting.
Police determined that there was an altercation between the security guards of a business and a male subject in the parking lot. Security employees were asking patrons to leave the parking lot because the business was closed. The suspect refused to leave the parking lot. After being asked several times to leave, the suspect went to his car and retrieved a handgun. As the suspect raised the gun in the direction of one of the security guards, the guard fired his handgun, striking the suspect in the upper body. After being shot, the suspect ran a short distance and then collapsed. The suspect was struck multiple times. He was transported to Saint Agnes Hospital and pronounced deceased at 2:34 a.m.
The suspect did fire his weapon, but no one else was injured during the shooting. The security guard remained on the scene. Baltimore County Police will continue their investigation and submit their findings to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office for final determination of this incident.
The suspect has been identified as Ron Worsley, 34, of the 4900-block of Parkton Court, 21229. The name of the security guard will not be released at this time due to the on-going investigation.
