AECOM To Layoff 108 Workers In Pennsylvania


AECOM (NYSE: ACM), a multinational engineering firm, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) earlier this month. The notice indicates that the company would layoff 108 workers at its Geodis Facility at 180 Kost Road in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The Los Angeles-based engineering giant employees around 87,500 and was named as one of 2017 World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune 500. AECOM was established in 1990 as AECOM Technology Corporation, which has a storied history that traces back to Ashland Oil & Refining Company in Kentucky.

The layoff is due to the pending loss of a logistics service contract. Layoffs is expected to begin January 31, 2018, according to the WARN notice submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.
