Two Companies Recall Several Products Distributed In Maryland

On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said two different food products distributed in several states, including Maryland are being recalled related to potential undeclared allergens.

Water Lilies Food Inc., an Astoria New York-based food manufacturer, recalls approximately 4,335 pounds of chicken tenders. The USDA said Ahold Wedge spicy chicken tenders might potentially contain undeclared milk. The company describes its product as “spicy chicken strips fully cooked chicken breast tenders fritter with spicy seasoning.”Water Lilies Food was notified that bread crumbs supplied by a third party may potentially contain milk. There have been no illnesses reported linked to the allergen.

The Ahold Wedge spicy chicken tenders were distributed in Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, District of Columbia, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.

Aldon Food Corporation, a Pennsylvania-based company that offers salad and other ready to serve food, is recalling an estimated 18,570 pounds of chicken salad because it may contain undeclared milk.

Market Source white meat chicken salad with a use-by-date from May 22, 2017 through June 27, 2017

Block and Barrell Imperial white meat chicken salad with a use-by-date May 22, 2017 through June 27, 2017

Don’s Salads white meat chicken salad with a use-by-date from May 22, 2017 through June 27, 2017

Don’s Salads chicken waldorf salad with a use-by-date from May 22, 2017 through June 20, 2017

Hymie’s white meat chicken salad with a use-by-date from May 22, 2017 through June 20, 2017

These products were distributed in Delaware, Maryland, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts.

A supplier also notified the company of potential undeclared milk in the bread crumbs utilized in the products.
