Six Flags In Upper Marlboro Debuts 240-Foot Tall Wonder Woman Ride

Six Flags America, an Upper Marlboro-based theme park, unveils plans to add its tallest ride in history, the Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth swing ride.

Six Flags partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create the 24-story ride on behalf of DC Entertainment. The ride is named after the DC Comics super hero with the same name. The swing ride will spin up to 32 riders around a circular tower at 40 miles per hour.The ride was unveiled as the latest “Wonder Woman” movie opened in U.S. theaters on Friday.

“Excitement around Wonder Woman is at its peak, making this the perfect time to debut the first ride bearing this iconic female DC Super Hero’s name,” said Rick Howarth, the park’s president, in an announcement.

The park, operated by Six Flags Entertainment Corp., will officially unveil the new ride on June 13 that will be located next to the Superman Ride of Steel roller coaster.

The theme park began its 2017 season on May 26 and will remain open through September 4, Labor Day.
