Instacart Delivery Service Expanding To Wegmans In Several Baltimore Locations

Instacart, a same-day grocery delivery service, has partnered with Wegmans Food Markets to provide consumers with home delivery in as little as an hour. The service will be offered at select Wegmans’ locations including, Hunt Valley, Crofton, Owings Mills and Columbia.

Instacart launched its online grocery service in some Baltimore neighborhoods in April 2016 and in March it expanded to other areas including Columbia, Annapolis, Ellicott City, Towson, Dundalk, Arnold, Jessup and Catonsville. The service permits “personal shoppers” to pick up and deliver the products from grocery chains, such as Petco, Whole Foods Market, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Price Rite, Harris Teeter and Safeway. The partnership will include the four locations in the Baltimore region, as well as the Wegmans’ location in Germantown and Woodmore, along with four other locations in Northern Virginia.

Shoppers will simply visit instacart.wegmans.com, place and order and put in their zip to see if they reside within the delivery area. By adding a Wegmans Shoppers Club card number, shoppers can also receive discounts on select items. Download the Instacart app and receive the same service.

“By partnering with an industry leader like Instacart, we’re able to provide our customers with a seamless shopping experience with the quality and service they’ve come to expect from Wegmans, without leaving their house,” Heather Pawlowski, vice president of e-commerce for Wegmans said.

Since Instacart was founded in 2012, it has grown to over 60 markets.

For $5.99, shoppers can have their order of $35 or more delivered to their home.
