Will Fargo Season 5 Live Up to the Hype?
“Fargo” Season 5 is quickly approaching and Fargo fans everywhere are wondering if it will live up to the hype. The show, which was created by Noah Hawley, has been a critically-acclaimed success since its inception back in 2014. Fargo Season 4 premiered on November 21st, 2020 to high praise from both critics and audiences alike with an impressive 92% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fans of the show have been eagerly awaiting Fargo Season Five ever since Fargo Season Four wrapped up back in 2020. For those wondering what questions they might want to ask their Fargo series creators at the upcoming Television Critics Association event on August 17th.
The Release Date:
However, the best guess is that Fargo season 5 will air by late 2023 or early 2024. Considering that Season 4 of the black comedy series was premiered after a three-and-a-half years hiatus from Season three’s release, the said dates are the best possibility.
The Cast:
There’s some overlap, such as the end of season 4 giving a short cameo to Mike Milligan (Bokeem Woodbine) from season 2, but for the most part, the focus is on new characters played by completely different actors.
Over the years, big names like Chris Rock, Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kirsten Dunst, and Billy Bob Thornton have played prominent roles on Fargo, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
If the show comes back for season 5, there will likely be plenty of big-name talent in front of the camera. It all just depends on what kind of story Noah Hawley would want to tell.
The Plot:
Fargo Season Five will be set in Las Vegas with a mix of new characters and old favorites.
It follows two hitmen working together who are not only out to kill each other but also anyone else that gets between them.
Fargo is currently on hiatus so the release date for season five has yet to be announced, but it is expected to come back sometime next year.
There’s no word if there will be any big-name talent filling lead roles (we’ll just have to wait and see) though Billy Bob Thornton does make an appearance as Lorne Malvo who was last seen getting caught by Fargo law enforcement at the end of season three-presumably, he’ll get involved in some way this time around too!
Fargo Season Five is still in production and will be released sometime next year. Fargo season four had many seasons, so it’s possible that this new season will have the same amount or more episodes than previous ones.
It has not been confirmed if there are any big-name actors coming for leading roles but Billy Bob Thornton might make a reappearance as Lorne Malvo from Fargo Season Three who was getting caught by law enforcement at the end of Fargo Season Four.
The Storyline:
On one hand, there were things I liked about season five-I thought they did a great job with Lou settling into his life post-Miltziek but other parts felt slow to me like when he returned home after meeting up with Simone just because we haven’t seen him before didn’t make it feel necessary again. That being said all these characters are back together in Fargo Season Five-Lou, Simone, and Stavros Miltsiak.
Is It Worth Watching?
Fans of Fargo Season Four will be pleased to know that Fargo Season Five is continuing on with Lou and Simone’s story. I would say that Fargo Fans are going to want to watch this one for at least some of it because there’s a lot going on in the new season more than you might realize just from looking. Fargo Season Five is worth watching.
