Westside Supermarket Will Layoff 69 Employees


Westside Supermarket, LTD filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification in the New York City Region on September 1. The notice indicates the company will possibly shutter its doors due to lease expiration.

John Zoitas moved to the United States from Greece more than 45 years ago. His business has grown from one location to five over the years. His children now oversee the operations of all five locations.

Sixty-nine employees who work at the Upper Westside location between 76th Street and 77th Street will be laid off before or on November 30, according to the WARN notice.
