Baltimore Police identify the victim in the Northwest District fatal shooting that took place on Tuesday.
Approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to the 5400 block of California Boulevard to investigate a report of an unconscious person. At the scene, the responding officers located a 57-year-old woman who was unresponsive.
Medics dispatched to the scene pronounced Janie McCray deceased at the scene. Autopsy determined McCray died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Approximately 7:40 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of South Collins Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers discovered a 31-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.
Medics transported the man to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Approximately 7:20 p.m. Thursday, officers went to the 5400 block of Moores Run Drive to investigate a reported shooting. At the scene, officers found a 31-year-old male who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
About 8:45 p.m. Thursday, police arrived to the 700 block of Mura Street to investigate a report of a shooting. At the scene, the officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
No further information is available. The investigations are ongoing.
