Verizon To Close Hilliard, Ohio Customer Services Center & Layoff 496 Workers

Verizon filed a WARN with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in Columbus Ohio on February 17, 2020. The notice alerted the closing of Verizon’s Government Customer Operations Center in Hilliard, Ohio.

Business Closing

The closing will impact 496 workers, which are scheduled to separate on or within 14 days after April 7, 2020. The affected workers hold various positions, including Analyst, Advocate, Chat Coordinator, Lead Supervisor, Tech Anlyst, and more.

The closing and layoff have been contributed to the downsizing of Verizon’s Credit Order Review operation, according to the WARN.

The impacted employees do not have union representation. All layoffs are expected to be permanent.
