Two Maryland Men Charged In Connection With Bank Fraud

U.S. Attorney Betsy Steinfeld Jividen announced Tuesday that two Maryland men were indicted on bank fraud charges on August 9.

Thirty-one-year-old Tyrone Baldwin and 34-year-old Steven Allen Baldwin was charged with three counts of bank fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, according to the indictment.

Both men allegedly stole checks from mailboxes, created counterfeit checks and subsequently cashed those counterfeit checks in April 2016 in West Virginia, as well as Jefferson and Berkeley counties, according to the indictment.

Judge And Jury

The total amount of the counterfeit checks was over $9,000, which the government is seeking to confiscate in this case.

The defendants are in custody in Wheeling, West Virginia.
