TLC Health Network, an Irving New York-based not-for-profit health system, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) on August 21. The notice indicates that the company will permanently close its long-term care unit and medical surgical unit.
The company was founded in 2002 as a result of a merger between former Lake Shore Hospital, now Lake Shore Health Care Center, and Tri-County Memorial Hospital. TLC currently operates facilities in Erie, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties, as well as a home health care agency that operates in the tri-county areas.
According to the WARN notice filed in the Western Region, 38 employees will be affected by the layoff, beginning November 17. Both units are expected to completely close by November 30.
