Three Maryland University Presidents Will Receive Sustainal Raises

The governing board of the University System of Maryland voted in favor of increasing raises for three university presidents.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the results of a Sibson Consulting study prompted the board to award University of Maryland, College Park, President Wallace Loh a raise of $75,000, increasing his salary to $675,000 a year.

Janet Dudley-Eshbach’s, president of the Salisbury University, current salary of nearly $385,500 will increase by $20,000 and Javier Miyares’s, president of the University of Maryland, University College, current salary of nearly $360,500 will increase by $50,000.

“To attract and retain this caliber of individual, including nationally recognized leaders, we must offer compensation packages that are competitive with what these individuals could earn in other states,” board chairman James Brady said in a statement.
