The Sony Pictures Television Networks announced that the main characters in The Wheel of Time series cast have been agreed upon and will be led by Caitlin Gerard as Moiraine Damodred and Harry Lister Smith as Lan Mandragoran. Joining them is Suzie Hodge as Nynaeve al’Meara, Julian Morris as Elayne Trakand and Erin Spencer as Aviendha.

This announcement follows the previous news regarding the casting of young actors for The Wheel of Time role. Daniella Pineda was announced as Egwene al’Vere and Tyler Hoechlin as Rand al’Thor. Nesta Cooper was also reported to join the cast as Camile Belfall, a character known from an early age in the novels.

Season 2 of The Wheel of Time will tell an original story that follows Moiraine, a member of the shadowy and influential all-female organization called the ‘Aes Sedai’. Moiraine is sent out of her secret training grounds in the White Tower to find Rand al’Thor, an elusive young man who may be the very person destined to save humankind from utter destruction. However, there are many who seek his life.

As Moiraine and Rand work together to prevent an all-out war, every single character from the first book series takes a leading role in the second season. Season 2 will introduce us to new characters and develop characters from the first book, including many of the nameless faces.

The series is set to premiere in Canada on February 18th, 2019 on Showcase TV. The Wheel of Time season 2 is produced by Sony Pictures Television Networks.

The Wheel of Time series on IMDb has already gained a rating of 9.2 in less than three months. Since its announcement and it has shown no signs of slowing down.
