Michael Goldenberg will direct the Batman. Throughout his career, Goldenberg has served as a writer, director, or producer on several acclaimed films, including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Snow Falling on Cedars, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium and Practical Magic.
The Batman was filmed over seven months in Toronto, Canada, with a budget of $100 million. The film has a script by Geoff Johns from his own story, and its origin is based on the comic book series created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger that is found in the DC Universe.

The makers claim that The Batman will be a dark thriller with big action sequences, blood, and brutality. There are similarities between this film and The Bat (2019), starring Jai Courtney. In an interview with Screen Rant, Gary Oldman explained that his character is like the one he played in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy (2008-2012).
A review from The Hollywood Reporter said, “It is not a good sign when reviewers walk out of a film before it’s even ended. But that’s precisely what happened to some scribes at the Warner Bros. Pictures-hosted sneak preview of The Batman on Thursday night in New York. It was a fitting end to the film, widely panned by those who stuck around until the credits rolled.
