Suspect In Pimlico Racetrack Shooting Found Guilty Of Second-Degree Murder

Approximately 5 a.m. June 7, 2015, Baltimore Police were dispatched to the 5200 block of Park Heights at the Pimlico Racetrack to investigate a shooting. At the scene, the officers found a mal victim who had been shot 11 times, including gunshot wounds to the torso and head.

The victim identified as Kevin Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene.

PrisonThe suspect identified as Keith Davis Jr. was observed running a motor vehicle accident a few blocks from the murder scene. Police cornered him in a garage and recovered a weapon nearby. The weapon was found to have Davis’ fingerprints, palm prints and DNA on it. It was later determined the weapon was utilized in the murder Jones, according to the release.

A Baltimore City jury found Davis guilty of second-degree murder. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 10. He faces a maximum 50-year prison sentence.

“After meticulous preparation, two trials, and many roadblocks, this case epitomizes my office’s perseverance and willingness to pursue justice for victims and families,” State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said in a statement. “This has been — and was always — about the pursuit of justice for Kevin Jones.”
