Southwest Solutions provides Head Start programs at several locations, including All Saints at 8300 Longworth Street in Detroit; Central High School at 2425 Tuxedo Street; Earhart Elementary-Middle School at 1000 Scotten Street; Escuela Avancemos at 3811 Cicotte Street; George Crocket Academy at 4851 14th Street; Mark Twain Elementary-Middle School at 12800 Visger Street; New Paradigm College Prep at 2450 Beatrice Street; Phoenix Academy at 7735 Lane Street; Salvation Army at 3737 Humboldt; St. Anne’s at 1000 St. Ann Street and Voyageur Academy at 4321 Military Street.
On December 31, Southwest Solutions will permanently suspend its head start program and lay off 122 employees, according to the filing. Some of the employees are represented by Local 1640 of AFSCME Council 25.
