A new liquor store and tavern is scheduled to open at 701 South Bond Street in Fells Point in July. The 6,000-square-foot space was once the home of Get Down and Bad Decisions.
Bad Decisions closed after just six months in business, shuttering its doors in February. Get Down occupied the building at the corner of Aliceanna Street for five years prior to Bad Decisions. Bryan Burkert, owner and operator of Get Down, owns the Bond Street space, which he will reclaim with his own 50-seat bar.
Operating as a liquor store and tavern, Sir Duke will feature an extensive beverage and limited bar food menu, as well as a retail space that will be located in the back of the first floor.
The menu, developed by Chef Rashad Edwards, will feature street tacos, flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, fried ravioli, kalettes and edamame.
“It’s just bar food, but like everybody else says, bar food with a twist,” Burkert said.
Burkert chose the theme for his new tavern to reflect the 1970s and 1980s, “before all the technology had come into play.” Work from local artists will also be incorporated into the bar’s theme.
Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. The kitchen will open daily until midnight and the liquor store will also open daily until 2 a.m.
