Sherwin-Williams Announces Closure Of Beltsville Plant And Layoffs

Sherwin-Williams Co. recently filed a Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation. The notice alerts of the impending closure of the Beltsville plant at 10406 Tucker St. The layoff is expected to impact 64 workers.

Business Closing

Impacted employees were offered opportunities to apply for positions with the company. The layoffs are expected to begin in August. The company has agreed to transition several of the impacted workers to other positions.

Results of property evaluations are being cited as the reason for the plant closure and layoffs.
